Animated Storytelling Mini-Projects 2005
Each of my Art for New Media students was paired up with a student in Mr. Craig Fox's 4th period Honors English 9 class.
First, Mr. Fox's students wrote visually descriptive narratives (stories) and gave them to my Art for New Media students. Each Art for New Media student then picked his or her favorite part (usually about a paragraph) of the story and turned it into a Flash animation. Flash is an incredibly difficult program to learn and this was the first project that my students used it for, so the results were pretty impressive. We invited Mr. Fox's students over to view the Flash animations on the big screen on May 3rd and all-in-all it was a very positive experience. My Art for New Media students were thrilled to receive typed letters of appreciation a few days later.
