About Me

I was born in Stockholm, Sweden and lived just outside of Stockholm until I was about 10 years old. My family then moved to California, where I've pretty much lived ever since. I've lived all over California: high school in Sunnyvale (near San Jose), undergraduate work at UC Davis (with a semester at the University of Maryland, at College Park), back to the Bay Area where I worked as a graphic designer at a computer company for 3 1/2 years, then to Cal Poly, SLO for my teaching credential, and then to San Diego in 2000!

On April 2, 2004, I got married to Eric Dahlgren in Lahaina, Maui. It was an absolutely wonderful day! We had 36 of our closest friends and family that were able to travel all the way out to Hawaii for the big day, many of them even stayed for the entire week! I have assembled some photographs from our wedding ceremony and reception dinner for your viewing pleasure.

I am a huge baseball fan and my favorite team is the San Francisco Giants. Don't get me wrong, I like going to Padres games, too, but I can't turn away from my roots. =) Spring Training is my favorite time in the season because the players are so relaxed and are having fun (it is a game, right!?!). Plus the weather is so nice in Phoenix during March! Some of my favorite baseball moments are getting Barry Bonds' autograph at Spring Training in 2001, seeing Barry Bonds hit his 69th home run of the 2001 season (the historic season where he ended up hitting 73 home runs), and going to see the Giants play the Angels in the 2002 World Series, even though they lost. =(

My husband, Eric, and I love to go waterskiing. He's been doing it for at least 10 years and is super good at it. He even competes in tournaments! I'm still basically a beginner, but it's still really fun. We have a Boxer puppy named Roxy, who we love to hang out with, take on walks, and play with.

I have my own small web design business, called Dean Image + Design and love to design my own jewelry. I also love to take photographs, both snapshots of happy occasions and fine art photography.

My parents are retired and live in San Luis Obispo. My sister got married on May 26, 2001 and she and her husband live in Pleasanton, California.
