Welcome, New Ravens!

We absolutely have a music class for you, whether you are looking for Orchestra, Band, Jazz, Rock or Electronic Music. Click on HERE to see a brief overview of all the courses offered. Click HERE for the recommended Envision course progression in all arts disciplines.

There is no audition necessary for Symphonic Band. There is one period of Orchestra offered, so auditions for chamber opportunities and for advanced work will take place once the class has begun-no audition necessary to enroll in Orchestra, just sign up!

Auditions can now be scheduled for Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and Guitar (Rock Band) classes. Please click HERE for more information. Students enrolled in Symphonic Band will automatically be auditioned for Wind Ensemble. If they are interested in auditioning for the horn spots in Jazz Band, they will need to prepare those materials. 1st period students will be auditioned in class the week after spring break unless they plan on auditioning on another instrument. Please note there is 1 day only for the Jazz Band rhythm section audition and it is a 2 hour audition "class". This is only for students who want to audition on guitar, bass, piano or drumset for Jazz Band

Canyon Crest Academy has a strong reputation for being a rigorous comprehensive high school with a nationally recognized arts program-The Envision Arts program is different from any other program in the state and is a California Demonstration Model for Arts curriculum. In addition, the Envision Music Program is a current finalist in the Grammy Signature Schools program, one of only 130 in the US! Our students have won national and local recognition for their individual works in music, are attending top tier Universities pursuing music and music industry careers, and our performance ensembles receive top honors at local Festivals.We offer classes in Band, Orchestra, Choir, Jazz Band, Rock Band and Composition/Recording Arts. We offer extended studies in world musics through Samba Corvo and the Gamelan Orchestra as well. Our Conservatory program offers pre-professional training in music, where students earn high school and college credit for their work. All Envision music students work with teaching artists who are working professionals in the San Diego Area and beyond, including the foremost Gamelan expert in the US! And...we have FUN!!!
