The Guest Artist Showcase-featuring many of the talented Envision Guest Artists. Come see some of the phenomenal talents in the areas of Dance, Cinema, Theatre, Music and Art! These artists work with students in Envision Day courses as well as the various Envision Conservatories.

Peter Sprague in Concert-We will be treated to two performances this year from world renowned jazz artist, Peter Sprague (different programs).

Fall Concert-a sampling of the music program in this early concert! You will see all performance classes represented in this fun evening. Come early and enjoy a dinner in the amphitheater before the performance.

Conservatory Recital-join us in the black box for an intimate evening with the Instrumental Music Conservatory as they present solo and chamber music works in the Black Box Theatre.

The Beat Goes On....-the Music Conservatories join forces to present this look at the bare bones of music through a fun and funky exploration of rhythm, melody and recyclables!

District Honor Band-Auditions in December, this year's performance will be conducted by Dr. Robert Fleming from Arizona State University, and also our terrific SDUHSD adult school Coastal Communities Concert Band. The performance will be at CCA, 4PM on 1/10Winter Concert-featuring Symphonic Band, Orchestra and Choir.

Music In Motion-Hollywood Edition- This is the second such collaboration by the Envision Music and Dance Departments. Hollywood is the inspiration for this year, featuring the music from film and television.

Jazz Night-once in the theatre, and once in the amphitheater, we will present concerts from the jazz ensemble, jazz combos.

Kandid-Inspired by the artist, Kandinsky, the Music Conservatories again team and are joined by several DFA classes to present a look at music, artistic composition and paint!

Festivals-The Wind Ensemble and members of the Jazz Band will be performing in several local, and possibly not so local adjudicated festivals during the spring season.

2007-2008 Envision Instrumental Music Productions

Tickets for these events can be purchased through Vendini beginning in late September

Fall Band Concert-The Jazz, Concert and Symphonic bands will share a concert featuring selections from their Fall repertoire. The concert will begin at 7PM in the Proscenium Theater.

Winter Band Concert- The Jazz, Concert and Symphonic Bands wil share a concert featuring selections from their winter repertoire, including a combined piece including the winds and percussion from all three classes! The concert will begin at 7PM in the Proscenium Theater.

Spheres-a multimedia experience! This is a live concert presented by the instrumental music conservatory students, with student composed and music, set to a dizzying array of soundscapes, movement, theatrics, and visual stimulation. Inspiration for this work comes from "Cirque du Soleil", "Blue Man Group" and everyday life in the age of MTV. The show runs Jan. 16-18 at 7PM in the Proscenium Theater

District Collaborations-the 4th Annual Honor Band-hosted this year at CCA on February 10....and the super exciting possibility of a joint choral/orchestral performance in April as well-more info coming soon! These performances will be free, but come early, as space is limited.

Local Music Festivals: In the spring, Dates TBD, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band will be performing in local adjudicated festivals. Possible locations include Fullerton, Coronado, Oceanside and all points in between!

Jazz night-a night to feature our jazz studies students in the Nest, April 23 at 7PM . Students from Jazz Band and the conservatory program will present a great evening of jazz music

Instrumental Music Conservatory Recitals-Enjoy the solo and chamber works of our instrumental music conservatory students in addition to the presentation of their senior projects during our two evening performances, May 20 and 22. There will be separate programs each night.

Drumming and Dance-in an exciting collaboration with the Dance conservatory, our musicians will be exploring many veins of non-western music while performing as part of the Dance presentation on May 29-31 in the Proscenium Theater.

Spring Concerts-Concert and Symphonic Band will share the stage with Orchestra for the first time all year on June 3. Symphonic Band will be premiering a piece commisioned in part by Canyon Crest Academy! Jazz Band, the Combos, and Chorus will perform on June 4. Both Concerts will begin at 7 PM in the Proscenium Theater.

 

2006-2007 Envision Instrumental Music Productions

Coffee Concerts October 13-Please join our classes for an informal "coffee concert" and open house. We would like to present our ensembles informally with a concert/open house followed immediately by an outdoor reception in the amphitheater. Guests are welcome to snoop around our new building to explore our new MIDI lab and practice facilities.

African Drumming and Dance exhibition: Conservatory students in Instrumental and Choral Music as well as the Dance conservatory have been working with Ho-Asogli and Kwame Degbor, on loan from the Center for National Culture in Ghana, to prepare an informal exhibition of African Music and Dance, Sat. Oct 14th at 11 AM in the Amphitheater (inside M100 in case of weather)

Music in Motion- Nov. 8 and 9, A collaboration between Envision Dance and Envision Music, Envision Productions presents a unique theatre experience as both musicians and dancers take the stage in this lively and entertaining intersection of movement and music. Symphonic Band, Jazz Band and the Ballet and Jazz/Modern classes will be working on this material. Music selections include piece from West Side Story, Chiaroscuro, Four Dance Episodes, Sleep, Take 5, Blue Rondo, and many more! This will be one of the very first performances in our new performance hall!

CCA Winter Concerts-Jan 10 and 11. The Concert Band, Orchestra and Symphonic Band will perform on Jan 10th and the Chorus and Jazz Band will perform on Jan 11th. Both concerts begin at 7 PM in the CCA theatre.

My Spanish Heart-a stage adaptation of Chick Corea's album-will be presented Feb. 14 and 15 by the instrumental music conservatory students. This musical love story will feature 10th grade student, Ryder Davidson on piano, in combination with a cast of very talented conservatory musicians. This one of a kind production will be held in the CCA theater for a brief two night engagement.

Jazz Night -April 25. Students focusing on jazz studies will present a concert in "the Nest" featuring student jazz combos. Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate the work they have been doing with our fantastic teaching artists. These combos will be performing new music in a variety of jazz ensembles, as well as paying homage to some jazz greats! Don't miss this relaxed evening of great entertainment.

Carmel Library Recital-May 9th Night music continued-Conservatory students will perform at the Carmel Valley Library as part of their monthly live music series. Conservatory musicians will perform solo and in chamber ensembles for the public.

CCA Spring Concerts-May 31 and June 1-The Concert Band, Orchestra and Symphonic Band will perform on June 1 and the Chorus and Jazz Band will perform on May 31. Both concerts begin at 7 PM in the CCA theatre.
