Torrey Pines Jazz Band

The Class:
The TPHS Jazz Ensemble, directed by Amy Willcox, is a challenging ensemble that offers unique creative opportunities for performing various music styles such as rock, swing, funk, Latin and bebop. Students in the ensemble develop a broad range of musical influence as well as knowledge of jazz history. There are many opportunities for students to develop their improvisation and composition skills.
Each year the Jazz Band participates in a number of festivals, competitions and concerts.
Enrollment into the Jazz Band is by audition only.
