Torrey Pines High School Orchestras

The Orchestra Program:
The award winning Torrey Pines Orchestra Program consists of two ensembles that each serve different levels and styles of playing. Both orchestras, directed by Amy Willcox, perform at school concerts and compete each year at state and national music festivals. The goal of the program is to develop musicians who are knowledgeable about music, their own instrument, and performing skills.
Enrollment into the ensembles are awarded during an audition process that takes place at the end of each school.

Our Ensembles
The Torrey Pines Intermediate Orchestra, led by Amy Willcox, is the largest orchestra at Torrey Pines High School. This ensemble studies repertoire at an intermediate to advanced level and trains musicians in ensemble and chamber performance, orchestral literature, and proficiency of their own instrument.

The Intermediate Orchestra performs in several concerts and competitions throughout the year.see more »
The Torrey Pines Advanced String Ensemble, led by Amy Willcox, is the top string ensemble at Torrey Pines High School. This ensemble studies repertoire at the collegiate level. The ensemble provides musicians with the opportunity to perform in a high-level smaller ensemble setting while studying challenging classical and contemporary works.

The Advanced Strings perform at several concerts, school events and competitions throughout the year. see more »
