The SDUHSD High School and Middle School Honor Bands are made up of the finest wind & percussion musicians in our school district.  The Honor Band environment provides the students with a challenging environment in which they are encouraged to learn a higher level repetoire, while getting to know their fellow classmates.  All SDUHSD band students are encouraged to audition for this wonderful experience.

The SDUHSD Music Staff is excited to announce our 2010 High School honor band guest conductor will be Dr. Robert Fleming, director of the Coastal Communities Concert Band.

The Middle School Honor Band director has yet to be determined.

Auditions for the 2010 High School & Middle School Honor Bands will take place on 12/7 from 4-6:30 pm at Canyon Crest Academy.  Each audition will consist of performing the prepared audition, scales and  a short sight reading excerpt.

*Middle school students will also be asked to deomonstrate their concert Bb & concert Eb scales, one octave. 

*High school students should be prepared to demonstrate any of the major scales.

 

Students auditioning for the CA all-state ensembles may choose to play their all-state material instead of the provided excerpts.  All students auditioning must be currently enrolled in their school music program.
