The Wind Ensemble, directed by Amy Willcox, is the top performing ensemble for wind & percussion musicians at Torrey Pines High School. This is an audition only class and is open to 9th-12th graders, although the class consists mainly of upperclassmen. The wind ensemble studies a number of advanced wind band works in a number of musical genres.

Many of the students in the wind ensemble are also members of the San Diego Youth Symphony Orchestra as well as other reputable community ensembles. Many wind ensemble students after graduation have gone on to reputable universities and conservatories to major or minor in music.

Enrollment into the Wind Ensemble is by audition only.
