San Dieguito Academy teachers and staff want to work closely with you to
ensure that your child has a positive and meaningful high school
experience. Maintaining an open line of communication between home and
school will facilitate your child’s success in school. You can contact any
staff member at our school by using our email or voice mail systems. Our
staff is very responsive and will make every effort to contact you in a
timely fashion. Please remember that we can do a better job of educating
and supporting your child if we work together as a team.
There are a variety of ways to access
information about our school.
- We maintain an
up-to-date website where you will find a wealth of information about our
instructional programs, course offerings and the many activities that
occur at our school throughout the year.
- I encourage you
to sign up to receive weekly emails from administration. You can do
this by contacting my assistant, Lois Delanty. These emails will
provide you with current information, the parent newsletter and the
weekly bulletin.
- I host monthly
meetings for parents called “First Fridays”. They are held on the first
Friday of every month (except June) from 7:45-8:45am in the conference
center.
- ELAC meetings are
held monthly for our Spanish speaking parents. These are joint meetings
between Oak Crest, Digueno, SDA and La Costa Canyon schools. Typically,
these meetings occur at SDA in our Mustang Center. Please check our web
site for exact times and dates.
- Other valuable
sources of information include our school calendar, bulletin, parent
newsletter and counseling connection. All for these publications can be
found on our website or in the principal’s office.
- We have a new
“all call” system which is faster and more efficient. I will use this
form of communiqué for the more time sensitive events and reminders.
Despite all these
various forms of communication, the best way for you to support your child
is to become involved in their life. Please contact us with questions or
concerns you may have about your child. We are always available to work with
our families to support our students.
