....................It was another crazy year on the Division I scene in 2005, with a super start by Buchanan
pretty much putting all others on notice that the Bears would be very tough to topple on their
Central Section Finals course at the state meet. But as the year wore on, San Diego chimed
in with La Costa Canyon and Torrey Pines throwing down some major efforts to earn consideration as among the better programs in San Diego Section history.

....La Costa Canyon (SDS) -- We may very well be under-rating this team here, as the talent just spills all over the roster. Five return from last year's 15th-place team at the state meet, but the group fared clearly better in isolated big-meet showings during the year. If healthy and in sync, this group will upset some of the powerhouses! All-American candidate Katy Andrews leads the group, which could evolve into among the finest in San Diego Section history! ....................................................................................................................................................................................
