Follow each step below to select your classes for next year and to set up a
successful schedule! Click the RED
links to access additional information.
1. You should have
received a grade-level
Course Selection
Contract at
the presentation in the theater.
Course Selection presentation.
2.
Before you begin to fill
out the Contract, read it carefully! It is
called a contract because your signature indicates that you and
your parent/guardian understand the district Course Selection
guidelines and that you will abide by them.
You are selecting a schedule for the whole
year.
|
3.
On the back of your Course Selection Contract, review the
course list
that corresponds with the grade you will be entering in 2010-11.
-
To determine which classes you
need to graduate, log
in to your Aeries account and review the "Graduation Status"
tab (if you do not have an account, contact Caroline Harrah
at the front desk in the Administration building).
-
To
determine which classes you need for college eligibility,
refer to the
college requirements and sample
schedules page.
|
4.
Before selecting courses, review the
Course Profiles
and pay close attention to both prerequisites and homework
requirements.
Understanding the content and the demands of each course will
help you narrow your selections (especially electives) and
ensure your success and interest.
|
5.
Write your selections on the front of your Course
Selection Contract, including your ALTERNATES!
Choose electives that you are genuinely interested in taking.
We create the master schedule and number of spaces based on your
requests. There will likely not be space for your to
change electives later. If you don't select at
least two alternates for each elective, your Contract
will not be processed.
|
6.
Have your Course Contract in hand. Between the dates of
February 11 and March 3, you and your parent/guardian
will log in to the
Aeries Parent Portal and select your courses online.
Using your Contract, enter your course selections as instructed
in the Course Selection presentation. Be sure to
indicate your first-choice alternates for each elective you have
chosen.
AFTER you have followed all the instructions above, if
you need to discuss your course selections with your counselor,
check the box on your contract. There
will be an opportunity to review and revise your schedule, if
necessary. After you submit
your online course selections, make sure that you and your
parent or guardian sign your Course Selection Contract.
|
7.
By March 3, you must return your signed, completed Course
Selection Contract to a Counseling Secretary, who
will ensure that you have included your courses and alternates,
signatures, and that you have selected your courses online.
Counselors will call you in ONLY after online courses are
selected and the completed contract is turned in.
If you did not select your courses
online through Aeries, please complete your Course Contract with
Course Names and Numbers and return
to Counseling Secretary as soon as possible.
