Description of Canyon Crest Academy

Canyon Crest Academy is a comprehensive, public high school located in San Diego, California. It is one of several high schools in the San Dieguito Union High School District, and one of two "schools of choice." As a school of choice, students who live anywhere within our district attendance boundaries can apply during a specific registration period and indicate their interest in attending. If the number of applicants does not exceed the number of allocated spaces, all students are admitted. If the number of applicants does exceed the number of allocated spaces, a lottery is held. Those students who are accepted to CCA can attend each year thereafter without having to go back to lottery, and those students who are not accepted will attend the school in their specific attendance area. A student who is not accepted may reapply the following year.

As a comprehensive high school, CCA offers exemplary academic, athletic, and elective opportunities for all students. In addition to the "traditional" course offerings found in many schools, CCA also offers unique opportunities in the arts and technology.
