Setting up a 4-Year Plan Using Your CHOICES Account

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A CHOICES PORTFOLIO, GO TO www.bridges.com , LOG IN, AND SKIP TO STEP 6.

1. Get an ID number and password for the CHOICES program from your NAVIANCE welcome page .  After you get your ID/password, go to step 2.

2. If you do NOT have a portfolio created yet, go to www.bridges.com, click on the "Portfolio Name" tab in the upper right-hand corner, and then click on "Create a New Portfolio" (once you create an account, you can also log on from any computer). If you DO have a portfolio created, as soon as you get to the "Portfolio Name" tab simply type in your ID and password...and skip to step 6.

3. Login using the ID number and password you received.

4. Read the instructions, fill out the spaces, and be sure to use your real name and real Student ID number!

5. When you are finished, click on the "go" button at the bottom of the page.

6. Click the "Choices Planner" icon, and then select "Course Plan Builder."

7. Click "Start a new high school course plan."

8. Select either "Canyon Crest Academy Graduation Requirements" or "UC/CSU system requirements."

9. After you select a link, you will see a grid. The grid outlines course requirements, with hyperlinks to specific CCA courses. Pay particular attention to the "Notes."

10. At the top of the page, select "Add to your plan."

11. On the new grid, click "edit" on any of the courses. When the new screen opens, you can indicate the status of each course you have taken or plan to take. Your credits will adjust accordingly. Keep in mind that every 10 credit courses consists of two five-credit "semesters." You earn two grades for each ten-credit course.

12. Consider this a "work in progress," save your work, and adjust it whenever necessary.
