Original Advocacy - Please read the following CAREFULLY!

We will be learning what goes into an Original Advocacy speech later in class.

Today in the LMC, you goal is to find 3 topics:

* subjects concerning public policy issues of a tangible nature

* must be able to advocate a specific legislative and/or regulatory governmental action

What does that mean?

• Find 3 current problems or issues (relevant in California, or other states) and the legislation which is available to help fix it. (propositions are a great resource)
• Educate yourself on the legislation (Actually READ the propositions, print them out if you can)
• You may only use propositions which HAVE NOT BEEN VOTED UPON YET or ones that DID NOT PASS
