About Me:

I was born and raised in San Diego, Ca.  I went to high school at El Camino High in Oceanside, Ca and then college at UCSD where I obtained my BA in Mathematics as well as my teaching credential and Masters in Education. It was an amazing, but challenging experience to complete my education in five years, but well worth my time (and money).  I was determined and driven to go straight to college right after high school. I intended on going to UCSD to obtain my BA in Computer Science, but while at UCSD, I tutored undergraduate students in Calculus and really enjoyed it.  I knew then that I had a passion for helping others learn new math concepts.  I also volunteered my time to work with the Upper Bound Math and Science program at UCSD, where I tutored struggling students, at the high school level, and helped them learn mathematics.

I just recently got married to my husband Mark Stangl…I decided to stay with Walton for teaching :)

Here is a picture of us at our wedding this August 09! We got married at our beautiful house in Fallbrook, Ca.

About My Interests...

Now bringing you up to date, I teach Algebra and Pre-Algebra at Carmel Valley Middle School!  I love Mathematics!!!  I hope that I can be a great teacher who inspires students to learn and enjoy math.

Outside of school I like to do a lot of fun sports and recreational activities.  I have cheered all of my life, beginning with Pop Warner through High School to cheering for the All-Girl Competition Cheer Squad for UCSD, where we took third in the nation in 2003!!  Besides cheering I love to drive my off-road truck, ride my pink beach cruiser, play my guitar, sing, and hang out with my friends and family.  I love anything outdoors! I have hobbies for every season, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and riding my quad and buggy at Glamis or Ocotillo! I have the sweetest jack Russell Terrier named Abby.  We have a small family but we are very happy :)
