LETTERS ABOUT LITERATURE 2003

What:  An annual, national contest in which students write a letter to an author-- living or dead-- explaining how the author's book gave them wings and changed their way of viewing the world and themselves.

When:  Contest deadline in December 6th, 2002.

Prizes: California winner-- $250 and a trip to Sacramento for an awards ceremony at the state Capitol.  Top twenty entries will be published in a commemorative booklet.  National winner-- $500 and a trip to D.C. for an awards ceremony at the Library of Congress.
