MY PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND Hello, and welcome to my homepage! My name is Michele Hershey. I am delighted to be a member of the exceptional faculty at CVMS and such a wonderful school district. I teach HonorsAlgebra . I have taught at CVMS since 1999. I am beginning my twelth year in the teaching profession. I graduated from UC Davis. I am CLAD certified, and I have earned a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. My studies have greatly strengthened my knowledge and broadened my perspectives regarding education and curriculum development. PERSONAL INFORMATIONI"ll let you in on a few details. I'm sure my students will discover more as the year progresses! I grew up in a very close-knit family with 2 sisters,1 brother, and a wonderful mother and father. I lived most of pre-college life in beautiful Lake Tahoe, so it is probably not a surprise that I love the outdoors and I am a very active person. My athletic claim to fame is a position on the UC Davis volleyball team. I also LOVE to surf. I have a 4 year old son named Logan , a 6-year-old son named Reid, and our newest addition to the family is 8-week old Lilah. You will hear plenty about them throughout the school year; I often have a good story to share. I also have a dog named Cedar. I enjoy taking my family to the beach and the park. I'm sure that I will see some of you at the Del Mar or La Jolla beaches from time to time. We also enjoy skateboarding (yes - mom too!) hiking, riding bikes, camping, and going to Legoland/zoo/Seaworld. The rest of my time is spent doing what I do best - teaching mathematics, of course!
