About Me

I have an MFA in directing from the UCSD Department of Theatre and Dance where I have taught acting. improvisation, and commedia dell'arte.I also studied clowning and physical theatre at the Dell'Arte School in Blue Lake, California.

I worked at Seattle Repertory Theatre assisting Doug Hughes for one season. Before coming to CCA, I worked extensively with the education programs at La Jolla Playhouse and directed at Portland Stage Company. I also spent a year as a visiting professor at Colgate University. I worked for a long time with the International Schools Theatre Association.

I love modern productions of classic plays. My favorite playwright is Molière. My favorite play is Waiting for Godot. I also love contemporary musicals; I worked as an assistant director with the national tour of RENT for quite a while.

Outside of theatre, I have spent a large amount of time traveling both around the United States and the world. I have a 1963 Ford Falcon convertible that I love driving, and I am the proud owner of five laying hens. And, my son Samuel is really, really cool.
