Academic Integrity Students who attempt to cheat or plagiarize will receive no credit for the assignment.  A second offense will likely result in a failing grade for the course.  To ensure that assignments are original, students should be prepared to produce a detailed list of sources upon request.

Late Work All assignments are due at the beginning of the class session.  Any work that is not completed at this time is considered late.  Late homework assignments will receive no more than half credit.  Assignments worth 50 points or more will be lowered one full grade for each school day past the due date.  Absent students must submit all previous homework immediately upon return to class.  Any additional class- or homework missed due to absence must also be completed and submitted at that time.

Attendance and Promptness Regular attendance is crucial to student success in this course.  Students are expected to arrive before the bell and remain in the classroom until excused by the teacher at the end of the class session.  Frequent tardiness will result in detentions, Saturday school sessions, and lowered academic grades (quizzes that are missed due to tardiness may not be made up for credit).  Students who miss class due to excused absences are responsible for obtaining and completing missed assignments by the due date. I am usually available via email, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00am and 4:00pm.  My email address is:

Hall Pass It is assumed that students take advantage of the passing periods to use the restrooms.  In the event of an emergency, students may use the hall pass to leave the room.  Please limit breaks to a maximum of five minutes if possible.  Only one person may use the hall pass at a time.

Class Atmosphere   Class sessions are frequently discussion-oriented.  Students are encouraged to speak freely without fear of unwarranted criticism or inappropriate responses.  When a speaker has the floor, please show your respect by listening quietly without interrupting, holding side-discussions, or engaging in off-topic activities (including sleeping, or the appearance of sleeping).
