The following is a list of Prefixes/Suffixes that will be studied this year in “Language” groups in addition to academic vocabulary.

Every few weeks we will have a vocabulary checkout and see how many vocabulary definitions, prefixes and suffixes you know in 1 minute! The more you know, the more tickets you earn.  So study at home!!!!

de- opposite defrost (not frozen)
dis- not, opposite of disagree (not agreeing)
in-, im-, ir- not, opposite of injustice (not justice)
impossible (not possible)
irresponsible (not responsible)
inter- between interact (talking/doing things between two or more people)
pre- before prefix (before the word)
re- again return (go back again)
semi- half semicircle (half circle)
sub- under submarine (ship under water)
super- above superstar (above average)
un- not   unfriendly (not friendly)

able, ible can be done comfortable (can be comfy)
