Ecosystem/Biome Powerpoint Sales Presentation

Due Friday, February 20th

Purpose: You and your partner(s) have now been enlisted as the next travel agent to the world’s most exotic places.  You will have to convince the class why your selected biome/ecosystem is the best place for your peers to vacation and visit.  You will need to include the following in your powerpoint presentation:

1.      Talk about the Location of your ecosystem

·        how would we get there?

·        where in the world are these ecosystem found

2.      Describe the Climate of your ecosystem

·        Temperature

·        Precipitation (rain, hail, sleet, etc.)

·        Amount of sun/day length

·        Pressure (if underwater)

·        What is/are the limiting factors?

3.      What are some Activities would you do in your biome

·        What are some good tourist activities

·        Ecotourism

·        Fauna: What types of animals are found here (describe at least 3 interesting ones)

·        Flora:  What types of plants are found here (describe at least 2 interesting/exotic ones)

·        What special/cool things do these organisms do to survive in this biome’s environment (adaptations)

4.      What are some Environmental Threats that endanger your biome

·        What are some of the natural/man-made dangers to your biome and its effect on the organisms there

·        What are some ways your audience can do to help your biome

5.      You have to sell your biome to the audience….you have to make them want to go to your biome!!!  Keep the following in mind:

·        Use pictures and not as much text to sell

·        Do not to read from your powerpoint…but treat the presentation as a sales pitch

·        There is no minimum or maximum on slides…make sure you cover all parts and do it to keep the interest of your audience

·        YOU MUST DRESS THE PART WHEN YOU PRESENT THIS TO THE CLASS (DRESS AS YOU WOULD FOR YOUR BIOME!!!)

·        You will be graded on your presentation on the following:

o       Powerpoint information (correctness)

o       Presentation (creativity/sales pitch)

o       Audience interest
