A student entering Earth and Space should be able to:

� Plan and construct a scientific investigation to test a hypothesis.
Course Description
This course introduces and brings together geology, oceanography, meteorology, and astronomy. The course will focus on the study of our solar system, the solid earth (rocks, minerals, plate tectonics, mountain-building, and earthquakes), oceans, shorelines, the atmosphere, and life – past and present. This course fulfills the physical science requirement for high school graduation.
Students will explore these topics through discussions, laboratory investigations, teacher demonstrations, and in-class assignments. This course is aligned with the California State Standards in Earth Science.
