As the second decade of the new century begins, our culture arrives at an integral crossroads where the understanding of our impact on the world we live in begins to equal our ability to influence that impact.

At no point has it been more crucial to students, parents, and teachers alike to unite in building a vision of who we are and what we can work together to achieve. This is why the skills that are promoted and developed in English class, mastering reading and writing in order to think more critically about ourselves and our surroundings, must be the focus and foundation upon which all other knowledge rests. I am incredibly excited to be a part of that journey with the students of Canyon Crest Academy.
