Acid Base Chemistry
Acid and Base Chemistry (Sawtelle, 2003) – Groups of students will look at how chemists define acids and bases, how acids and bases are measured, and how acids and bases affect the world around them.
Safety
Safety 101: A Chemistry Web Quest (Jones, 2001) – Students will learn the basics of lab safety in preparation for a lab safety quiz.  Students must pass the lab safety quiz in order to participate in any labs that involve chemicals.
Home Chemistry
Chemistry Web Quest: Chemicals at Home (Trauth-Nare, 2005) – Students will evaluate the elemental composition of chemicals in the home.
Mrs. Shimp’s “The Chemistry behind Cooking” Web Quest (Shimp, 2003) – Groups of students will research how solutions, thermochemistry, chemical reactions and the gas laws are involved in cooking.
Gas Laws
Ms. Brennan’s Gas Law Web Quest (Brennan, 2002) – Groups of students will learn about the gas laws that affect SCUBA diving: Dalton's Law, Boyle's Law, Henry's Law, and Charles' Law.
Organic Chemistry
Organic Chemistry in the News (Clark, 2006) – Groups of students will be taking on the role of science reporter for a local newspaper. Together they will research and develop a full unbiased story on various organic chemistry topics.
Extra! Extra! Read all about it… Organics Hit the Market! (Morelli, 1999) – Groups of students will create an advertisement of the pertinent information about an organic compound group.
Forensics
Bones and The Badge: Know Where the Truth Lies (Labor, 2002) – After collecting and analyzing evidence from a crime scene, groups of students will use logical thought processes and scientific inquiry skills to trace the steps of the crime and determine whether or not science can accurately explains it.
Exhibit A: A Forensics Web Quest (Stefaniak, 2006) – Groups of students will examine the physical and chemical properties to determine the composition of a substance that has been collected from the crime scene.
The Periodic Table
Using the Periodic Table (Swain, 1998) – Students will research an element and create a poster board highlighting the elements discovery and history, atomic structure, physical and chemical properties, and common uses in today’s society.
Atomic Structure Web Quest (Stefaniak, 2006) – Groups of students will write a series of books on the elements that will include all of the basic information about the elements while making the elements appeal to a young audience.
Fireworks
The Chemistry of Fireworks (Glencoe Online) – Students will analyze the component parts of fireworks, identify the chemical compounds that are responsible for the brilliant colors, explore the history of fireworks, and learn about firework design and how fireworks are built.
Nuclear Chemistry
Nuclear Chemistry Web Quest (Phelps, 2000) – Groups of students will define important terms associated with nuclear chemistry, research and identify uses of nuclear chemistry, and create a pamphlet or power point presentation informing others of their opinion on nuclear chemistry.
Physics Quest: Atomic and Nuclear Chemistry (Gende) – Students will investigate about the different types of nuclear radiation, nuclear fission and fusion and the principles behind nuclear bombs.
Nuclear Chemistry: Science 10 Web Quest (Wadsworth & Shuck) Students will create a secondary school newspaper describing what nuclear chemistry is, including weapons used, and the effects of radiation, given off by these weapons, on the environment and its people.
Bonding
Chemistry Web Quest: It’s All about Bonding (Spektor, Veladez, & Bertani, 2002) – Students will use the Periodic Table as a guide to determine why certain compounds can or cannot mix -- why they either form bonds or remain in conflict.
Noble Gases
The Chemistry Blimp (Michalovic, 2001) – Students will research the chemistry behind lighter-than-air flight and the history of the successes and failures of airships.
Atoms
Evidence for Atoms (Michalovic, 2001) – Students will search for evidence supporting Dalton's theory of atoms.
Element ADventure Web Quest (Gibson, 1999) – Groups of students will create and present an advertising commercial which "sells" a selected element from the Periodic Table.
